Whole School Sports Days
Emerald Secondary College hosts three whole-school sporting events each year, involving all members of the school community. These carnivals are a highlight of the school calendar, with Year 12 students traditionally taking a leadership role in their final school sporting events, promoting strong participation, school spirit, and themed costumes.
The Swimming Carnival features a combination of standard competitive events alongside novelty activities held in the play pool and on surrounding grassed areas, encouraging broad student involvement. The Athletics Carnival provides students with the opportunity to compete across a range of track and field events, catering to varying interests and abilities.

- Cross Country in Term 2, around our beautiful local area
All 3 major sporting events allows students to qualify for divisional level and then if successful Regional and State level.
Interschool Sports Yarra Division
Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to represent Emerald Secondary College in a range of sporting events within the Yarra Sporting Division.
Term 1: Tennis, Volleyball and Baseball
Term 2: Soccer, Netball, Football and Badminton
Term 3: Girls Football and Boys Netball
Term 4: Table Tennis, Hockey and Basketball
Emerald Secondary College also takes a team to the Rocky Trail Academy MTB Series, allowing students to try out their skills at downhill Mountain Bike Riding.

The houses are named after the founders of the school.
At swimming, athletics and cross-country you can earn points for your house. The winning house is presented with the house cup at the end of the year.
