Year 10 Art students visit the Archibald prize exhibition at Bunjil Place

Year 10 Art Students were fortunate to be able to catch the Archibald Prize exhibition in Berwick before it hastily left the state. This infamous exhibition wielded controversy once again as students questioned the esteemed judges selections. Personal favourites were identified after careful consideration of techniques and aesthetics. Pleasing portraits populated by diverse subjects. Now we understand the hype!

Emerald Art Society Annual Arts Exhibition 2022

After a 2 year hiatus with an online format, the Emerald Art Society Annual Arts Exhibition was held at the Hills Hub in Emerald early in November. It was one of the most entered competitions for current and past Emerald Secondary College students for quite some time. It is with great pleasure and no surprise that I would like to congratulate Ava Griffin for winning the Next Gen Best in Show prize for her photograph “Where the Sky Touches the Sea”. Also a mention for Lily Cochrane for winning the Under 20 year old prize for her Surreal landscape and Charli Emmott for her highly commended still life painting. Competition however was vigorous with many accomplished artworks entered. Congratulations to all entrants on their beautiful artworks and thank you to the amazing committee at the Emerald Art Society.
